Found this fella in my kitchen. He has lots of friends and family. 110 miles SSE of Tucson at 4200 ft.
I used to live in Tucson....If this is a very large spider, then it is probably a specimen of Hogna carolinensis, a kind of wolf spider (family Lycosidae). I am at least completely confident of the family identification. Thanks for sharing! Oh, this is *not* a dangerously venomous species to people or pets; they hunt "on foot" instead of spinning webs to trap prey, so they may occasionally stray indoors.
